Droitwich Spa Town Council
Since January 2021 an increasing number of contentious statements have been made, and shared, about the Neighbourhood Plan and the Neighbourhood Plan Group that we find to be inaccurate or misleading.
The majority of the contentious statements were made by Councillor Bob Brookes and the Town Clerk, Mark Keld.
Councillor Bob Brookes
During the Annual Meeting of Droitwich Council on the 4th May 2021, the Council replaced Councillor Alan Humphries with Councillor Bob Brookes as the Council’s representative to the Neighbourhood Plan Group. Councillor Bob Brookes has failed to respond to requests for meetings and failed to share information from Wychavon District Council that was expected to be sent to the Neighbourhood Plan Group.
Councillor Bob Brookes proposed the motion to delay work on the Neighbourhood Plan until at least 2022 awaiting the completion of the South Worcestershire Development Plan. As the Council’s representative to our group, he did not have the courtesy to inform us of his delaying motion. Both Locality (that provides support to Neighbourhood Planning Groups) and Wychavon District Council have confirmed that there is no need to suspend work in this situation. Indeed work continues on other Neighbourhood Plans within Wychavon.
